Horse Show
We are sorry to announce
that the Horse Show is not going ahead this year (2010), but if anyone
would like to help/sponsor/advertise next year then they are very welcome
to get in contact. Many thanks.

We pride ourselves on being a friendly, family show. Our competitors
range from the very experienced to those who have never been to a show
before.
Each
year many people come to Chew Stoke Horse Show who have never been to a
show before. If this is you then please feel free to give me a phone call
beforehand with any queries and I will do my best to answer them. On
arrival at the show, look out for the big white secretary's tent where you
will enter your classes and ask for advice. Hopefully we will be able to
help you out, please don't feel awkward about asking questions. We are all
approachable and friendly (though not attractive first thing in the
morning) and will do our best to make your day an enjoyable one.
Hopefully we have a class for everyone, these range from Help! classes for
those new to showing. In these classes the judge will tell you what you
need to do in the ring and how to improve. Show Jumping is always popular,
this year the classes range from 1'9" (53cm) to 3'0" (92cm) and of course
the Clear Round Jumping will run all day for you to have a spot of
practice. We also have many Showing classes ranging from Best Turned Out,
Veteran, Leading Rein, Family Pony, Coloured, Arabs, Best Mare, Best
Gelding, Arabs, Mountain and Moorland, Hunters, Cobs, Working Hunters, In
hand. We also have dressage classes ranging from Prelim to Novice.
Gymkhana – we are very grateful to Phil Small and Co who have kindly
volunteered to run the ring this year. Naturally, any other helpers would
be welcomed to assist them with this ever popular event.
If you have any ideas which you feel would benefit the show or any classes
you would like to see put into the schedule next time then please do not
hesitate to let me know.
I would also like to take the opportunity to thank all of the people who
help with the show, both before the day and on the day. Without all of
these similarly insane family and friends the day would not be possible.
Believe me it is very hard work but we all enjoy helping others to have a
good day. Last year many of our competitors stopped by the Secretary's
tent before going home to thank us. Thank you so much, it made our day!
Please bring the sunshine with you!!
